The Farrington
SP24-7 racing car for the
Sports
1000 Series has been designed and built
inhouse by the Company with a view to providing a cost
effective option to the racing enthusiast in the form
of a highly competitive race car.
The vehicle is provided in two separate formats:
- A complete racing car fully compliant with all regulations
for the Sports 1000 series as operated by the 750 Motor
Club of Great Britain.
- As a rolling chassis for the home assembler.
The car itself has been the recipient of a DTI SMART
Award (the only car ever to win such a prestigious award)
for innovative design and multiple user options. Whilst
fully compliant with the Sports 1000 series, it is also
capable of being fitted with a variety of engines, allowing
it to be a viable option for such varied uses as track-days,
sprints, hillclimbs or differently powered circuit racing.
Overall dimensions are: Length: 3530mm Width: 1540mm
The Rolling Chassis includes:
- A multitube spaceframe chassis
- Aluminium Undertray
- Front Suspension: Lotus up-rights with fully rose jointed
double wishbones with adjustable coil over dampers.
Rack and pinion sports steering rack.
Rear suspension:
- Mandatory rear axle connected via radius arms located
with a panhard rod.
Fully rose jointed with adjustable coil over dampers.
- Steel wheels and standard tyres.
Complete ‘turn-key’ car, ready
to race:
As Rolling Chassis, plus:
- Engine, (K100 BMW for Sports 1000 series as standard)
- gearbox, (five speed sequential for Sports 1000 series
as standard)
- wiring loom
- brakes
- instruments
- propshaft
- crown wheel and pinion.
- seat & seat belts, fire extinguisher, kill switch
Further options available upon request, including different
engines/gearboxes, upgrades and so on. Vehicles can be
‘personalised’ to your requirements.
